Caramel Frappuccino vs. Mocha Cappuccino

Influenced by my indulgent visits to Barnes & Noble when I need to get away, my treat of choice has become Starbuck's Caramel Frappuccino. At Wal-mart I ran across another cold coffee favorite that I enjoyed at Union-- Bolthouse Farms' Perfectly Protien Mocha Cappuccino. The flavor takes me to that same indulgent get-away as my Starbuck's pick. So, I decided to compare the two. Here's how 16 ounces of each measured:
  • Mocha Cappuccino, 32 oz = $3.28
    Calories: 356
    Calories from Fat: 40
    Total Fat (g): 5
    Cholestoral (mg): 26
    Sodium (mg): 212
    Sugars (g): 56g
    Protien: 20g (20%)
    Other: Potassium 38%, Vitamin A 16%, Vitamin C 300%, Calcium 90%, Iron 20%, Vitamin D 40%, Vitamin B6 300%, Magnesium 40%, Zinc 40%
  • Carmel Frappuccino, 16 oz = $3.93
    Calories: 380
    Calories from Fat: 130
    Total Fat (g): 15
    Cholestoral (mg): 55
    Sodium (mg): 240
    Sugars (g): 48
    Protien (g): 6 (20%)
    Other: Vitamin A 10%, Calcium 20%, Caffeine 110mg
The Mocha Cappuccino already has me won over on taste (it doesn't take much to beat burnt roasting!) and price (less than half). Factor in the fewer calories, fat, cholestoral and sodium, the added protien, potassium and other nutrients, and the lacking caffeine and Bolthouse Farms is the obvious choice. Of course I can think of lots of treats healthier than these, but the mocha cappuccino is my pick for an occassional indulgent get-away in a bottle.
