A Balanced Breakfast

balanced breakfast: banana, peanutbutter, oats Brylee and I shared a balanced breakfast this morning, thanks to a friend who taught me about this healthy snack/breakfast that her grandma used to serve her. A banana mashed with peanut butter, covered in uncooked oatmeal and splashed with soymilk may not sound too appealing (and mashing peanut butter into a banana doesn't look any better than it sounds!), but besides being yummy this combination of fruit, protien and grain is energizing. Quick breakfasts don't get much better than that!

Banana-Peanutbutter-Oatmeal Breakfast

1 ripe banana
1/2 cup whole oats
1-2 TBSP peanutbutter
1/2 cup soy or almond milk

1 | Mash peanutbutter into banana with a fork until combined.
2 | Sprinkle oats over mixture, and pour milk over oats.
3 | Gently stir with a spoon to combine. Eat right away, or let sit a few minutes to soften oats a bit. Enjoy!
