Get to it already.

31 Lessons from an Epic Beginner // 10: Get to it.

Day 10 of 31 Lessons from an Epic Beginner

This last Sabbath, Daniel and I led out in the young adult Sabbath School.

And I loved it.

The praying over and outlining a topic Friday afternoon. (Which, of course, was Epic Living.) The working out details with Daniel first thing Sabbath morning, and praying together over the people that would show up--that they'd hear God's calling in their lives and feel His blessing. The "designing" and printing Bible text cards (shown above) for each person to write down one action item for this week.

The showing up early to set up tables and a makeshift board to write what we discuss. The talking and listening and guiding and encouraging. The epiphanies and prayers. The feeling in my element, like that's where I belong.

I wish I could say it happened because I finally decided to get to it already. Instead, someone asked Daniel and he asked me. And together we ventured into this opportunity, and I'm glad we did. I say that I miss being involved in a weekly Bible study and regular discussions and getting to help lead a group of peers in study. But I haven't done it in years, so I didn't really know if it was still the same.

It is. Just as awesome as I've always felt it was. So glad to have got to it.

Sometimes, after you've gotten over a few fears and excuses,

and after you've read and researched and prepared as best you can,

there's nothing left to do, but do it already.

Start.

Exercise. Make a meal. Read a book.

Write your first draft. Create a mindmap of your ideas. Make a business plan.

Drop a carload of stuff off at the Salvation Army. Give your money to a good cause.

Set-up your blog. Invite a few friends over for a Bible study. Volunteer.

Sew a skirt. Knit a scarf. Paint a frame.

Whatever your epic life looks like, get to it already!
